Privacy policy

Last updated August 9, 2026

This is the privacy policy for workfindercarolina.com, run by Service Carolina LLC, which does business as Workfinder Carolina. It says what we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, and how to have it changed or deleted. It is written to be read.

What we collect

When you create an account: your email address and a password. The password is held by the sign-in service we use and we never see it. We also ask how you would rather be contacted — text, email, or a phone call — and which language you read.

When you build your profile: your full name, your mobile number, your ZIP code and the state it falls in, how far you will travel, the trades you work in and how long you have done each one, anything you write about your work in your own words, the hours of the week you can work, whether you want full time, part time, side work or weekends, when you can start, how you get to a job, what tools you own, what you can do physically, the hourly pay you are hoping for, where you would like your career to go, a profile photo, up to twelve photos of finished work, and — only if you choose to attach one — a resume, with the name of the file and the date you attached it.

Two yes-or-no answers: whether you can legally work in the United States, and whether you would agree to a background check. Those are screening questions and nothing more. Answering yes is not permission to run a check on you.

If your ZIP code is outside North and South Carolina we cannot place you, and we keep only your email address and that ZIP code, so we can tell you if we open in your area.

What we never ask for here

No Social Security number. No driver's licence, passport, or immigration documents. No bank account or card details. That paperwork happens after a job is offered, through a payroll company, never on this website. If a page claiming to be us asks you for any of it, close it — it is not ours.

Your photos and your resume

They are not public. They sit in private storage that has no web address anyone can visit. When one has to be shown, the site builds a temporary link that stops working about an hour later. There is no permanent public link to your face or to your resume, and there is no way for someone to guess one.

Your profile photo is there so a coordinator can put a person to the name. The photos of finished work are the ones we show a business client when we put you forward for a job.

What we do with it

We use it to find you work. A coordinator reads your profile, compares it against the jobs we are filling, and contacts you the way you asked to be contacted. We also use your email address to send you sign-in and password messages. We do not send marketing email.

Who sees it

Our coordinators. When we put you forward for a specific job, we give that business what it needs to decide: the work you do, your experience, when you can work, the area you can travel to, and your photos of finished work.

Companies that run parts of the site for us also hold it: the ones that host the website and the database, store the files you upload, and deliver our email. They may use it only to do that work for us. Beyond that, we share information when the law requires it — a court order, a government agency with the authority to ask.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. There is no advertising on this site, and no tracking pixels or analytics scripts on it. Nobody buys a list of workers from us.

Cookies

Two kinds, both needed for the site to work. One remembers whether you are reading English or Spanish. The others keep you signed in. There are no advertising cookies here, which is why there is no cookie banner to click through.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account, so a coordinator can keep looking for work for you. Ask us to delete your profile and we will. Once you have actually worked for us, some records — pay, hours, workers' compensation — have to be kept longer, for as long as state and federal rules say.

Seeing, fixing, or deleting your information

Most of it you can change yourself on your profile. For anything else, contact us at [PLACEHOLDER — email or phone for data requests] and we will tell you what we hold, correct what is wrong, or delete it. You do not have to give a reason.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Photos and resumes are private, as described above. A profile can only be read by you and by our staff after signing in. No system is perfect, and if something happens that affects your information we will tell you.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. If a change matters to you, we will say so somewhere you will see it.
